Details

Catalog & curation

GOG’s catalog leans heavily on classic PC games and handpicked indie releases alongside select modern titles. The store lists technical notes and community fixes for older releases, making it a go‑to for nostalgia seekers and players who want games that work on today’s machines without extra DRM hurdles.

DRM policy & client

GOG’s defining feature is its DRM‑free approach: purchased games are yours to download and keep. For users who want convenience, the optional GOG Galaxy client handles updates, cloud saves and cross‑play where supported, but using the client is never required to run most purchases.

Sales, bundles & extras

GOG regularly runs weekend and seasonal sales, developer bundles and publisher retrospectives. Many listings include bonus extras — soundtracks, manuals and installers — so purchases often come with more than just the game files, giving collectors extra value for classic releases.
