What you get

Newspapers & magazines

Findmypast’s newspaper collection is one of its headline offerings: searchable OCR text of historic local and national papers, plus digitised magazines and periodicals. Results link to scanned page images so you can view context, announcements and adverts. Coverage focuses on the UK, Ireland and Australia, and is especially useful for obituaries, announcements and social-history research that you won’t find in index-only databases.

Records & indexes

The site aggregates census returns, birth, marriage and death indexes, parish registers and military documents with indexed search fields and original-image viewing when available. Advanced filters let you narrow by county, parish and year. Many records include transcription and source citations to speed verification; occasional gaps remain for some counties and early records, so search strategies often require checking multiple collections.

Subscriptions & tools

Subscriptions unlock full access to collections, search tools and hints; you can build and export family trees, attach records and download image PDFs. Plans vary by region (UK, World, Australia) and offer monthly or annual billing. New users sometimes get a free trial or promotional discount. Customer support helps with account and subscription issues but advanced research still benefits from primary-source verification.
