Details

Curated selection

1stdibs aggregates inventory from specialist dealers and galleries rather than selling in-house inventory. That means listings often include detailed provenance, maker attribution and high-resolution photos. You'll find designer furniture, museum-quality art, vintage jewelry and one-off antiques alongside condition notes — ideal for collectors and interior designers searching for specific makers or rare period pieces.

Shipping & services

Shipping is arranged by the listing dealer or third‑party logistics partners and varies by item size, value and destination. Many sellers offer white‑glove crating, insured transport and international customs support. Expect quotes on demand for large furniture or fragile antiques; delivery lead times can range from days for small items to weeks for oversized or restoration pieces.

Buying & authentication

Listings often allow asking questions, requesting condition reports or making an offer. 1stdibs emphasizes provenance and authenticity — dealers typically supply documentation when available. Return policies and buyer protections vary by seller, so review each listing carefully, confirm condition and shipping details, and use the platform’s messaging to negotiate or request additional images.
